“Mozart, just five and he could compose music?” asked the mum.
“Yes, yes we may never know your boy maybe another little Mozart,” I answered. “Given a chance, with the dedication of United Piano teachers, we may discover a Mozart in him.”
The story of Mozart inspires many musicians and music teachers. Mozart was born in Austria, to a family of musicians. His daddy was a well-known violinist and his sister played the clavier exceptionally well. When Mozart was just five, he composed a song and asked his daddy, “Daddy, can you help me to play this and see if you like it?”
His daddy said, “Oh, are you sure? Let me see how it sounds.”
“Wow! This is really fantastic!” said Mozart’s daddy. “Keep composing my dear child.”
This little genius can play any songs he composed from his memory. He performed as child prodigy when he went on concert tour with his father. One day, the Empress of Austria was so overwhelmed by Mozart’s playing that she hugged him after he presented his piece in the presence of his royal highness, The King of France, Louis XV in Versailles.
Mozart was definitely the rising star as a composer and a performer. When he grew up he worked for the archbishop of Salzburg. However, sadly he lost his appointment when he was sacked from the palace. Like most musicians, the most trying time was the time he composed the best. His best works at this time was “The Marriage of Figaro, Don Giovanni” and the “Magic Flute.”
We may never know if you could excel beyond just learning music to become a composer like Mozart. If you could compose a little song, be excited about it and keep composing.
